Plant Manager
Greenville Metals is a unique metallurgical resource in the management of nickel and cobalt base super-alloys. The company transforms revert, through many techniques including electric arc furnace, AOD, and induction furnaces, into forms including ingots, pigs, and shot. Greenville Metals provides customers with a range of tailored revert management services designed to enable them to optimize the use and value of their own revert material.
The company is also in the business of powder manufacturing for the automotive industry utilizing various crushing, grinding and sizing equipment.
SUMMARY
This key position is responsible for managing, planning, directing, organizing, and developing Greenville Metals strategic manufacturing capabilities and executing its strategic plan for manufacturing excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Drives continuous improvement in environmental compliance, health, and safety through adherence of established safe operating procedures and the development or modification of procedures when disconnects are identified.
Drives quality improvements through traditional Quality Assurance/Quality Control activities, audits, and root cause analysis. Holds team members accountable for the output of their respective roles.
Oversees all manufacturing operations, gives direction, resolves problems and sets deadlines to assure that all company manufacturing objectives are met. Understands the operational relationship between GMI and Caledonian Alloys to maximize the operational output of the Revert Group.
Reviews financial and budgetary reports, cost data, to assure plant operations meet company profitability and financial objectives. Responsible for plant profit and loss. Maintains a Productivity pipe of projects to close gap between current state and fiscal targets.
Monitors production schedules and production process to assure customer delivery dates are met while maintaining financial inventory targets for materials, supplies and product.
Identifies, analyzes, and plans for plant capital needs and completes capital requests in accordance with corporate requirements. Maintains a 3 year capital plan.
Assists in developing and implementing manufacturing labor policies.
Assists in determining manufacturing manning and employment levels.
Directs the workforce to meet company labor objectives.
Assures company compliance with all established company and corporate policies, procedures, and governmental regulations pertaining to plant safety or environmental issues.
Keeps abreast with metals industry state of the art and technological advancements to assist the company in maintain its manufacturing efficiency and competitive ability.
Supervises, directs and evaluates the job performance of all direct reports within the manufacturing organization.
Makes presentations, conducts meetings, and communicates with all levels of the corporation pertaining to manufacturing-related activities.
Shares best practices within the organization.
Leads by example, instilling skillsets and mindsets, in order to drive continuous improvement; coaches and develops employees; leads cross-functional teams.
Assists all teams as needed to ensure improvements are made and sustained.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in a related field of study (Engineering, Material Science or Manufacturing Management) or equivalent management, technical experience in a like industry such as powdered or revert metals, heavy manufacturing, steel or investment casting.
Ten years experience in progressively responsible manufacturing positions is required; previous experience managing and mentoring direct reports required.

Must be able to travel by air or car; must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position with repetitive hand motions. Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including a copy machine, and computer printer. Employee will be required to make frequent visits to the manufacturing environment and must be able to occasionally walk and stand, sometimes in extreme heat or cold. Must be able to don personal protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, ear plugs, metatarsal shoes, safety vision wear, FR rated safety clothing, etc...

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
